June – the first month of Summer!!  I think someone forgot to tell Lake Superior that… Oh, well, it gives us more time to work on those quilting/sewing projects.  We have been working very hard to get as many samples done as possible out of all the new lines I ordered.  I must have been very ambitious

to have ordered as many lines as I did!!  They are still coming at 1 per week or more!!  I even have 3 Christmas collections that are here.  We will be doing a big “Christmas” celebration either in Aug. or Sept. this year and it will be big!!!  We’re working on ideas and gathering things to do right now.

New Day Added and Summer Hours Start-starting in June we will now be open on Tuesdays (June 7) in addition to our regular hours.  We will be open Tues – Thurs from 10 – 5;  Fridays from 10-4; and Saturday 10-3.  This will be until Sept 10…then we will take a look and see if we keep it that way for the fall.

Bag It – for the Ladies Winners!! –we did set a winning event!! – 160 bags were made and stuffed for women in need during April and May.  100 bags went to CASDA and 60 bags went to Harbor House.  Thank you to all who made these gorgeous bags and then stuffed them with marvelous goodies.  I am sure many women will be very grateful to receive a bag in their time of need.  The organizations thank you from the bottom of their hearts for your gifts…..Now the winners of our prizes are:  1st prize($100 gift certificate) to Teresa Nelson;  2nd prize ($60 gift certificate) to Nancy Elmore and 6 smaller prizes to:  LuAnn Holcombe, Bonnie Swanson, Linda Aho, Deb Hoban, Holly Peterson, and Pat Cahill.  Congratulations and come in anytime to claim your prize.

Row by Row 2016 -join in the fun as we do our 2nd year of Row by Row.  It begins June 21 and runs through day after Labor Day.  The theme this year is Home Sweet Home.  We have our row done and it will be up on the board  June 14th advertising the Row by Row.  Nothing can be bought before the 21st and no free patterns until that time either.  For those who haven’t heard of this – the object is to go to at least 8 different quilt shops and get the free pattern for a row and then make a quilt with 8 different rows, quilted, labeled and bound and be the first to hand it in at a participating quilt shop and you get 25 fat quarters as a gift!  Last year Linda Craig got our bundle.  Shops usually have kits for their row you can also purchase if you’d like plus the official Row by Row fabrics.  Our kits will be lending themselves for you to embellish so no 2 rows will be alike and our kits will be under $10!

New Fabrics, etc. – We have a new line from Northcott as part of the Stonehenge series and we did a wall hanging and cut kits for it and also did 2 kits for the queen size.  If you want the queen size come in and see this right away!  Birds and Blooms is up and getting rave reviews.  We also have the Jelly Roll quilt back that I will be putting the binding on tomorrow and then we will hang that one too.  The kits are all set to go as it uses a jelly roll and yardage.  Sandy is keeping really busy quilting our samples and she just got 2 more to do –one is an Up North original pattern and the other is a fall wreath we did with a charm pack and the Lil’ Twister.   I just looked out at our crab apple tree and see some late eating hummingbirds getting their last feast of the day…..  We also got our kits for the Holly Taylor Winter fabrics – we have 11 of them and if you want us to reserve one for you, just stop in or call and we will be happy to do that for you.  The box they come in is really cute and reusable.  I also have a box from Moda that just came today and I didn’t open it yet…..surprise!

Babylock Machines – I still have a couple of great buys on the Babylocks that are being discontinued  and an Espire which is just like the Symphony without the circular attachment feature and is at cost!!  Get them now or I expect them to be going home when the tourists start coming.

Have a great month – keep looking at our Face book page for updated information
