October is here and with it comes those gorgeous leaves.  The colors remind me of all the colors we have in the fall and Halloween fabrics.  Can you believe the warm September we had?  I think we must have set a record!  It is only 3 months until Christmas.  I really have to get my thinking cap on and come up with some fun and quick ideas for our “demo Saturdays.”

Demo Saturdays – The first one will be Oct.10th and I will be doing the fun quilt made from a jelly roll and then each block is cut into 4ths to make a quilt that looks difficult but is easy.  I did this one at the quilt show in April for a demo.  I will also show a 3-d dimensional posy you can make out of any square – I also did this at the show too.  Then I will demo several things from last year – 10 minute table runner for those who have never done it (need on of these for the Halloween table) and the infinity scarf as we start cutting the fur fabric again so you can make them in 20 minutes.  I will put a list up for Oct 17th and 24th.  All of these will take place at 11 a.m. and last about an hour or less.

Don’t Forget Halloween and have we got some cute fabric for you.  Get those pillowcases and bags made up for your favorite “trick and treaters.”  Your table must have a runner for October and what about some cute little items for all those parties!!  You still have a lot of time if you get going on these things – only take about 20-30 minutes each.

The Frivols Tins from Moda are Here– these are small wall hangings with everything you need except backing in a tin.  We now have 2 of the 4.   They are already becoming collector items before they are even displayed!  They are cute just in their tins!  They retail for $44.95, but  I lowered my price on them to $35 as I thought the price was a bit high…..come and get them.

Winter Fabrics-they are almost all here.  We have already sold out on one kit that was only up for a week…..We now have another pattern with those same colors and some of the cute characters.  These are blocks instead of strips so takes a little longer but the blocks of coordinates are all precut for you.   A new flannel quilt is waiting to be quilted and as soon as we get that back it will go up.  The kits are almost done being cut – they will be done by the end of Friday.  This has mittens and strings on it with a light background.  It can easily be made larger by adding an extra border to it.

Baby and Kids Quilts – we have about 6 darling kits for babies and kids.  You must see them and we have a cute strippy “cuddle” kit that works up darling and so cozy.  I’d like one of those for me!

American Dolls we have some new books in with patterns for darling clothes for the 18” dolls.  We also have those cute patterns for a tent, sleeping bag, etc. for making a whole camping set.

For those reading the Ann Hazelwood series which started with The Basement Quilt, her last book just came out called A Colebridge Christmas.  If you haven’t started that series – get those books now…it is a really good series and you will love the ghost that is involved in all the books.

Breaking News …..We sold the Twister business to a couple of great designers from Minneapolis area.  They will be taking my “baby” to a whole new level using all the things the internet has to offer.  They will do great.  I still have my books and the seconds we will still be selling until we run out of them.  Then I will order my Twister stock from them.

Swing Coat is done ….Mo did most of the work on this great looking coat that just happens to be in my size.  The pattern has it in all sizes and it will fit anyone.  Duck fabric was used in this one and it has that “modern” look even though swing coats have been around for many, many years – they just made a comeback.  This is for sewers with some experience.
