008 Raindrop Quilt Kit 

Another Northcott Stonhenge creation that is such a gorgeous quilt with the flowing lines and the diamonds called “Raindrops”. The hardest part is keeping the fabrics separated as the colors are similar.

This is more of an intermediate quilt, but a confident beginner could do it too.  The curves are actually appliqued right over the fabric and is not that difficult to do.  The ends line up so accurately and I just turned the edges under and did a small straight (or zig zag) stitch to hold it down.  The dark brown thread matched so well that you can’t even see it.  The large applique pieces are quilted the same way as if they were just 1 fabric piece instead of the 2 fabric pieces that are put together.

My quilter also did a lot of small pebble circles along the curves and out to the diamonds. It makes me think of a bank along a winding river with rocks in it. This quilt is 57” x 75” and could be used in many ways.
